Hello, my name is Pat Turman. If you’re reading this, then you probably already know me as a friend or an acquaintance or a relative or a colleague or an ex-colleague. This is what you may not know about me: I like to write. Everything on this website are original stories, screenplays, documents that I have been writing basically for the last 20 years.

Another thing you may or may not know about me is that I’m a Christian (I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior in 1988) who loves to write & made the decision to use my love of writing as a way to serve & glorify God. I created this website by myself for that purpose.

As for the image on my homepage, it’s taken from an old movie made in 1951 called Diary of a Country Priest. And that’s sort of how I think of myself—not so much as a writer but as a sort of priest or preacher. Lord knows I am not qualified to tell anybody how they should live or what they should think or believe but I do feel a calling by God to spread His word by writing stories for Him. So maybe I’m less of a preacher and more of just a voice. Yes, that’s what I am: just a voice. For God.

Anyway, if you’re reading this and don’t know, here’s some other things about me: I was an elementary school music teacher for over 20 years with the Amarillo School District (where I still live—Amarillo, Texas). When I lost my job teaching (See THE INCREDIBLE BUT TRUE STORY OF HOW A HANDFUL OF 5TH GRADERS GOT THEIR TEACHER FIRED), I became a substitute teacher in 2017 and I absolutely love it. Besides writing for God, I also play music for God. I’ve been the bass player & sometime singer in the worship team at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church for over 20 years. I also love to read (mostly the classics) & watch movies (mostly on TCM but also new movies).

Just a couple more notes: Besides stories about God, you will also find some secular stories on my website as well. This is because I didn’t dedicate myself to becoming a writer until I was about 40. And I didn’t dedicate myself to being a writer for God until after I’d lost my teaching job. So the 13 or 14 years in between (from about 2004 until about 2018) my stories were mostly of a secular nature. They were mostly the three screenplays I wrote which were the first things I wrote starting in 2004 & took me about 10 years. Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as I enjoyed writing them. God Bless you.
